Two year starter. Transfer from LSU in 2022. Second-team All-SEC in 2022. Long corner with a slender build. Played off man and zone with some limited press man. In press, flashed ability to play reactive and mirror route breaks. Better in off-coverage in cover three and loose cover two than he is in press technique. Used a deliberate shuffle pedal to maintain cushion and leverage. Times lateral and turn and run to stay in phase up the field. Smooth reacting to route breaks he’s quick to plant and drive coming out of his shuffle reacting on the throw. Has the ability to bait quarterbacks while in zone, balancing overlap and combination routes. He’s adept at seeing threats along with reading and reacting to the delivery key. Excellent playing high low routes in cover two and three. In off-man he does a nice job of mirroring receivers when they stem their routes. When the ball is caught in front of him he is able to get the receiver down, eliminating yards after catch and does look for opportunities to strip ball carriers. Notable ability to undercut routes on the break. Excellent ball skills he can get to the catch point and has excellent hands for interceptions. Has shown playmaking skill breaking up passes and getting interceptions. Has not shown press cover skill in limited reps. Gives up leverage too easily and is not overly physical when he reroutes. Not a thumper in run support either as he doesn’t seek contact. Avoids blocks and is out of the play. Hang on tackler, not much more. His ball skills and size project him as an outside zone corner and will fit with a zone heavy team.
2023 Stats: 20 T, 3 TFL, 6 PBU, 1 FF, 3 INT. OSR:25/30. Draft projection: 4th/5th round
