Notre Dame | HT: 6011 | WT: 211 | 40 time: 4.80 | Arm: 3138 | Hand: 0934 | Wing: 7514
Five-year starter. All-ACC in 2022 and 2021 before transferring to Notre Dame last season. Left Wake Forest as the all-time leader in yards, completions, and touchdowns and finished second all-time in ACC career yards. A free-spirit type quarterback who will take chances, play strong against pressure, and bounce back from adversity. Was one of only five FBS true freshmen to start week one in 2018 before losing his job a year later. Won the job again in 2020 and never looked back. This is a guy who played well in multiple systems and was often playing against defenses more talented than what he was working with offensively. Won two separate bowl game MVP awards and has an immense amount of experience under his belt. Physically, he can throw the deep ball with strength and precision. Mentally, he is the coachable type and brings a level of toughness to the team with the way he plays. He will be a backup that elevates the room but lacks the upside of anything more. Successful deep ball thrower. Makes big boy decisions and passes into traffic. Calculated risk taker knows when to pull back. Stands tall in the pocket. Stays on time. Lacks playmaking ability out of structure due to average-at-best tools. Turnover prone. Does not generate enough power from his hips when throwing. Balls to wide spaces have too much air under them. Too many misses on simple freebies.
2023 Stats: 191/301, 2689 yds, 63.5%, 24 TD, 8 INT, 123 yds rushing, 3 TD, 159.5 QB rating. OSR:4/5. Draft projection: 5th-7th round
