2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DRAKE NUGENT:
Michigan | HT: 6014 | WT: 298 | 40 time: 5.23 | Arm: 3300 | Hand: 0900 | Wing: 7814
Three-year starter. All-Pac 12 in 2022 and 2021 before transferring to Michigan last year where he earned first-team All-Big 10. Nugent is the son of former NFL quarterback, Terry. Plays the game exactly how the son of a former signal caller would. He is a general-type leader who plays a step ahead mentally. The asset he can provide an offensive line with is his level of understanding which goes far beyond physical tools. He knows about and uses angles with both his feet and hands to win leverage battles routinely. The lack of size does show up the longer he needs to sustain blocks, however. He is a center-only prospect, which can mightily limit the cities he could wind up in. A pure technician in every sense of the word. Nearly robotic after the snap. Plays prepared and knows what is coming. Capable of calling out the defense. Works to get his hand to the chest plate and will stay active as he latches. Plays low and can re-anchor. Base talent across the board is average at best. Does not always reach his points when climbing to the second level. Will lose sense of balance and strength on the move. Lack of size makes his margin for error small.
