2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about TRAJAN JEFFCOAT:
Arkansas | HT: 6037 | WT: 266 | 40 time: 4.69 | Arm: 3234 | Hand: 1018 | Wing: 7912
One year starter at Arkansas, three year starter at Missouri. All-SEC in 2021. Transferred to Arkansas in 2023 after playing four seasons at Missouri. Has solid size, length, and a muscular build. Played defensive end and three technique at Missouri. At Arkansas has been an edge defender in both a two and three point stance playing wide nine and five. Quick at the snap with strong hands to engage blocks. Plays off blocks well versus tight ends and flashes edge setting ability. Maintains leverage on blocks to contain outside runs. Has a burst on B gap stunts to disrupt blocking schemes. Plays with solid effort until the whistle and pursues hard on plays away. As a pass rusher, snap quickness gets him upfield and he flashes a variety of moves. Bull rush and bull rush into an arm under move are mainstays, but arm under is most consistent. He shows occasional outside-in counter move off the arm under or bull rush. At times can beat a blocker off the ball with a straight line to the quarterback. Can be slow to shed and makes most of his tackles when unblocked. More assists than solo tackles. Struggles to change direction and lacks bend to consistently squeeze around the corner to the quarterback. Relies too much on bull rush and lacks consistent power to collapse the pocket against physical offensive linemen. Has one speed and lacks acceleration for a closing burst. Has some tools but needs to improve stack and shed and add to his pass rush arsenal. With coaching, he could be a rotational end that kicks inside in the nickel.
2023 Stats: 16 T, 8.5 TFL, 4 sacks, 5 QBH. OSR:22/41. Draft projection: 7th round/PFA
