Miami, 6021 209 4.47. Two-year starter, Las Vegas, NV. Played one season at USC and transferred in 2018. Athletic prospect with ideal length and movement skills. Has experience in Cover two, three and quarters. Often played the box as a traditional strong safety. Has been used to match inside receivers at times. Shows a quick pedal to maintain spacing in deep zones. Can easily flip his hips to get over the top and react to pattern pressure and the quarterback delivery key. Solid in all transitions. Quick to close on the ball in deep zones. Plays off man with a smooth pedal and well-spaced cushion. Has ability to match route breaks and stay with inside receiver’s vertical route going deep. Flashes good angles to the ball but there is inconsistency. Makes a lot of tackles working downhill but fundamentals can be a problem. Has trouble gathering on a tackle and more often goes low diving for the ankles. Has whiffed at times and barely hung on with a shoestring tackle. He will need to upgrade that at the next level. At times he takes poor angles coming from distance and has to adjust on the fly. Ball production could be better if line to the ball was more consistent. Has been an excellent special team player with a knack for blocking kicks. Has been solid on coverage teams as well. Athletic traits will get him drafted but he needs development in some key areas. Projects as a backup and core special team player.
