OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Roger Rosengarten – OT / Baltimore

Gotta give the big guys up front some love. Rosengarten got the unfair label that some are still using in evaluation. He is “just” a right tackle, and right tackles are not “as important”. While that old school theory continues to diminish more and more each year, Rosengarten should have never been placed in that discussion. He was a blind side protector. His quarterback at Washington was the left-handed Michael Penix Jr. Rosengarten’s college teammate, Troy Fautanu, was drafted in the first round by Pittsburgh. He was the one that had not blocked for a quarterback’s blind side. And in some ways, Rosengarten was a cleaner prospect last April than Fautanu.

He has been starting since week four with just one sack allowed since week eight. Facing off against two former first round picks in New York, Rosengarten played one of his cleanest games all season. He did not allow a single pressure in Baltimore’s 30+ point performance and Ravens rushers averaged six yards per carry when running to his outside shoulder.

Cooper not only had his best game of the season in Seattle this week, but it may have been the most impactful performance of any Packers linebacker all season. In this game alone, he finished with 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, a sack, 2 pass break ups and his first career interception. That interception was the final nail in the coffin in the fourth quarter of their win. Cooper is the only rookie linebacker with both an interception and a sack. His four sacks on the year lead all l
