FANTASY FOOTBALL PICKUP WATCH (WEEK 8)

QUARTERBACK
Dak Prescott, Cowboys: The biggest beneficiary of the Amari Cooper trade already was starting to step up his game, with 115 yards and two TDs rushing the past two weeks. Adding Cooper returns a deep threat to the repertoire, while also likely to free up guys like Cole Beasley and Michael Gallup.
RUNNING BACK
Nick Chubb, Browns: If the rookie from Georgia isn’t already snapped up after Carlos Hyde’s trade to Jacksonville, time’s running short. Chubb’s early-season production made Hyde expendable, and his first start was worth 80 yards and a TD. He also has a favorable schedule going forward.
Raheem Mostert, 49ers: With Matt Brieda on the shelf (ankle), Mostert has been the more productive of Kyle Shanahan’s two-man shuffle. Alfred Morris has more carries, but a dismal 3.6 average per carry. Mostert’s 146 yards on 19 carries the past two weeks comes to a 7.7 average, and he’s caught all six balls thrown his way.
WIDE RECEIVER
Danny Amendola, Dolphins: Brock Osweiler’s spell as Miami’s QB has fired up a connection with Amendola, who has 14 catches over the past two games and put up 84 yards and a TD last week. Who knows how long it lasts – Amendola is injury-prone and Ryan Tannehill has been cleared for light throwing – but opportunity awaits.
TIGHT END
Chris Herndon, Jets: It’s a crowded pool at TE for the Jets, who carry four. But the Jets run a lot of two-TE sets and the athletic Herndon has started to emerge as one of Sam Darnold’s go-to guys, with TDs in each of the past two outings. Injury woes at WR of late also figure to help Herndon get looks.
DEFENSE
Colts: It’s a prime spot in the schedule for the Colts, who forced five Buffalo turnovers and sacked Derek Anderson twice in a 37-5 romp. Next come the Raiders, now without WR Amari Cooper and RB Marshawn Lynch, followed by mistake-prone QB Blake Bortles and the Jags. Throw in the Titans and their 30th-ranked offense, too.
