Heading into the Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 offseason, the franchise has five clear needs.

1. Quarterback – The elephant in the room. Will it be Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, or
an external option? No move they make seems likely to change the short-term outlook
of the franchise.

2. Defensive Line – A front that’s getting older, they need talent and youth. Baltimore
running for 299-yards in their Wild Card win over Pittsburgh will serve as a wake-up call.

3. Wide Receiver – The organization dropped the ball a year ago, unable to replace
Diontae Johnson’s spot in the lineup. George Pickens is heading into the final year of
his rookie deal with no extension in sight and Pittsburgh can’t run the entire passing
game through him.

4. Running Back – Najee Harris still looks likely to depart, leaving a void at the top of
the depth chart. Jaylen Warren will be retained but he can’t shoulder the entire
workload. Pittsburgh should take advantage of a deep RB draft class.

5. Cornerback – Outside and slot need addressed here. Joey Porter Jr. is the team’s
No. 1 but the starter opposite is undefined. Cory Trice Jr. is talented but his health is
hard to trust. Slot corner has been a revolving door and adding a long-term option is
badly needed.
