Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about HAKEEM BUTLER: Iowa State, 6053 227 4.47. Fourth year junior entry and two year starter from Baltimore, MD. A two year factor for the Iowa State offense, finishing honorable mention All Big 12 in 2017 and second-team in 2018. Set a school record for receiving yards this past season and showed several flashes of being a truly dominant player. They don’t come bigger than Butler, measuring in on the elite side across the board. He has almost always has the advantage in 50/50 situations and a quarterback won’t ever be afraid to loft it up his way near the red zone. His issues revolve around attention to detail. The tools are undeniable but that isn’t enough. Pre-draft interviews and his willingness to work are crucial. Elite, top end size across the board. Height, arm length, and hand size couldn’t be better individually and he has all three. Comes with plenty of downfield speed and sudden ability to stop, cut out off his route, and come back to the ball. High points the ball like an All- Star center on the hardwood. Can reach balls that others may not even consider going after. Has the knack to make elite-level catches with one hand or two. Has shown dominant flashes several times throughout his career. A load for defensive backs to take down after the catch. Can run through contact, uses an effective stiff arm. Doesn’t always have the go-getter mentality. Has shown a lack of willingness to extend his body for the ball in traffic. Could use more burst out of his cuts. Will struggle to separate short and intermediate. Drop rate is too high, showing a lack of concentration. 2018 stats: 60-1318, 22.0 ypr, 9 TD. OSR:9/42. Fourth/fifth round. (A-35 1/4, H-10 3/4, VJ-36, SS-DNP).
