2023 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about MAX DUGGAN:
TCU | H: 6015 W: 207 40: 4.70 A: 3038 H: 0978 W: 7338
Four-year starter, Council Bluffs, IA. Was the 2022 Heisman runner up in addition to first team All-Big 12 and second team All-America. Won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award in addition to Davey O’Brien and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Awards. A starter of over 40 games in college, Duggan ended his career on a high note playing the best football of his career and leading his team to the College Playoffs. He is short on sheer talent and ability, but he is a proven winner with the intangibles and toughness that can elevate a pro quarterback room. The cap on his potential likely falls short of a quality starter at the next level, but there is enough to work with on the field and more than enough stemming from intangibles to consider him a capable quality backup. Quick trigger that can snap the ball out in a hurry. Fast eyes that work well with his feet. Keeps the lower half active and ready to always pounce in any direction. Will stand strong in the pocket, aggressively patient through progressions. Dangerous once he breaks free as a runner. Combines good vision with power and toughness. Small frame and overall radius. Will get balls batted at line. Accuracy down the field is inconsistent. Trajectory is off on vertical routes. Arm talent alone is not strong enough to make all the throws. Loses ball placement skills when he cannot step into a throw. Duggan is not a talented enough athlete or thrower to make up for the lack of top-end tools, but he can win a job via the mental side of the game and should stick somewhere as a backup.
2022 Stats: 267/419, 3698 yds, 63.7%, 32 TD, 8 INT, 423 yds rushing, 9 TD, 159.2 QB rating. OSR:8/8. 5th/6th round.
