Ourlads' Profile:

2016 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about KEVIN HOGAN: Stanford, 6032 218 4.73. Four-year starter from McLean, VA. Two-time team captain. Played in a pro style West Coast offensive scheme where he was trusted with numerous calls, checks, and adjustments. A competitive leader who is a good decision maker. Has the toughness to stand and throw from the pocket along with the ability to move the pocket with his feet. Instinctive to recognize pressure with the ability to keep the play alive with his eyes down the field. Drops back and rolls out effectively. Throws with an elongated buggy whip release. Not an elusive runner but can scramble for positive yards. His overall game improved in 2015, especially his consistency on taking what the defense gives him. Plays within his ability. A smart player who processes information quickly. Stanford is a run-oriented play action team, but when Hogan drops back he can move the defense with his eyes. Takes the snap from under center but has experience in the shotgun formation. Has the ability to take something off the ball on short and intermediate passes. Doesn’t possess a bazooka for a right arm, but gets the ball there with timing and anticipation. Very accurate when using correct footwork and fundamentals. Steps up into the pocket and follows through on his passes. Uses all his receivers as weapons, particularly the tight ends on crossing and corner routes. Consistently puts the ball where the receivers can catch and not break stride. Protects the football under pressure. Feet get wider than shoulders at times which affects his balance. Must continue to work on his footwork in the pocket to throw on balance. If off balance, Hogan’s throws lose deep downfield velocity. Second team All Pac-12 and was 36-10 as a Cardinal starter. 2015 stats: 206/304, 2867 yds, 67.8%, 27 TD, 8 INT, 336 yds rushing, 6 TD, 171.0 QB rating. Ball velocity 53 mph. OSR:6/ 18. Third/fourth round. (A-10 1/8, H-32, SS-4.31, VJ-32.5).
