Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about MYJAI SANDERS:
Cincinnati, 6052 228 4.67. Three-year starter, Jacksonville, FL. Earned first-team All-AAC honors the last two years. Looks the part in multiple ways as an edge threat. Has the capability of getting off the ball in a hurry with a long arm and low pad level. The natural bend and easy-moving hips can give him a lot of options post-snap. Does not always play to those strengths, however, and there is a muscle mass shortcoming. Does not play big or powerful enough to pose as an all-situation threat. If he can gain and maintain weight, it should provide the window he needs to be a dependable force. Will not be a fit for every scheme, but there is a high ceiling to work with because of multiple high-end traits. Crafty hands and a loose, bendy lower half create space and angle advantages for him repeatedly. Shows a keen sense for positioning and balance. Can alter his pad level at the snap of a finger. Natural athlete with easy change of direction and plus-agility. Uses a strong stiff arm while staying under the shoulder pads of a blocker to maintain control of the engagement initially. Effective in the stunt and twist game. Can maneuver in a phone booth while avoiding the meat of contact by a blocker. Strong and violent finisher with another gear when in pursuit. Too small for every down play in the trenches. Needs to show a wider array of rush moves off the edge. Engine seems to run hot and cold when rushing the edge. Speed out of his stance comes and goes. Has a hard time disengaging against the run. Shows concentration and discipline issues on the field.
2021 stats: 41 T, 7.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 6 PBU, 13 QBH. Edge speed:left 2.33, right 2.32. OSR:14/36. Fourth/fifth round. (A-32 5/8, H-9 1/4, BP-20, 10-1.56).
