Disciplined in reactions he maintains backside leverage in pursuit. Works downhill then to the ball. Pursuit angles are normally precise and has range to get to the edge. Tackles with a quick gather and strike running through the tackle. Disciplined angles allow him to react to cutbacks and make plays in space. Solid blitz skill with good anticipation at the snap. Shows an arm over and spin move to escape a block in the blitz. Used more to blitz than cover, he is solid to drop to middle zones but not a playmaker in coverage. Play recognition gets him to plays more than speed. Second level blockers can give him problems on inside runs as he can get knocked out of the play. Needs a more consistent punch and shed. Projects as a two down Mike in the NFL. Shrine Bowl notes: Showed run stuffing ability inside with downhill reactions. Physical attacking blocks with hand use to shed. Displayed tackle to tackle range and was instinctive filling inside gaps. Depth of drop in zone coverage was a little inconsistent and did not show quickness reacting in coverage.
