Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about PERRION WINFREY:
Oklahoma, 6036 290 5.00. Two-year starter, Maywood, IL. Spent two seasons at Iowa Western Community College prior to transferring to Oklahoma in 2020. Two-time second-team All-Big 12. Winfrey has a naturally powerful body that plays even stronger on game day. He is an adrenaline-spike for the defense, as his engine runs hot every time he steps foot on the field. His elite-level length and explosive upper body can create significant issues for blockers off the ball. Strikes his man early and violently. Couple that with his aggressive, twitchy lower half and he can consistently penetrate a gap and cause disruption. There are still some issues with his overall body control and stability, but his growth has been tremendous over the course of his two seasons with the Sooners. If he continues on this path, he will be an effective threetechnique, but should be kept out of serious run defending duties. Long and lean frame that can play fast and rangy. Has room for muscle mass in time. Snappy movement off the ball with explosive hands and elite length for the position. Gets his hands on first repeatedly. Can take an inch of space and create a foot from it. An energy stick that will instantly increase the urgency of a pass rush. Shoots the gap and shows a relentless desire to win his assignment. Can locate the ball and pivot without hesitation. Plays through the whistle and will create plays from hustle alone. Techniques are developing nicely. Has improved his skill set tremendously over his two seasons at Oklahoma. Inconsistent pad level and overall positional awareness. Not a stout gap-defender that will stay home. Anchor is not present against the double team. Could use more lower body power and strength over time. Needs to show more variety with secondary rush moves. Will move too fast for his own good at times, needs more control.
