Virginia State | HT: 5115 | WT: 191 | 40 time: 4.46 | Arm: 3200 | Hand: 0912 | Wing: 7558
Three-year starter. CIAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and two-time first-team All-CIAA. Only Division II prospect invited to the 2024 NFL Combine. Transfer from James Madison prior to the 2021 season. Aligned as an outside cornerback who was asked to play lots of man coverage and deep-third in cover three. Solid height/weight ratio with long arms and a thin frame. Unbelievable ball production with 11 interceptions and 23 pass breakups over the past two seasons. Quick, natural backpedal to gain depth quickly. Solid in transition he can drop his weight and break downhill quickly. In press coverage, he matches receivers step-for-step off the line and uses his arm length to press them up. Good man technique while tracking the hips and matching receivers across the field. Impressive change-of-direction skills with loose hips to flip around his frame in a heartbeat. His hip fluidity and lateral agility help when dropping to his deep zone while reading the quarterback and route concepts to his side of the field. Phenomenal ball skills and is addicted to getting his hands on the ball. Notable tracking skills and uses his long arms to get his hands in the way of the pass. Solid short-area burst matched with reaction speed assists his superior ball skills. Physical against run blockers downfield. While he is physical, he lacks the power to hold up receivers at the line. Not an overwhelmingly speedy corner and can get beat by fast wide receivers down the field. Marginal functional strength as he struggles to finish tackles. Will struggle to get off of blocks at the next level due to his strength deficiencies.
2023 Stats: 34 T, 2.5 TFL, 22 PBU, 1 FF, 6 INT (1 TD). OSR:18/30. Draft projection: 5th-7th round
