Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about EJ PERRY:
Brown, 6015 211 4.60. Two-year starter, Andover, MA. First-team All-Ivy League and conference player of the year. Transferred from Boston College in 2019 after two years as a backup. Impressive MVP performance at the East/West Shrine Bowl upped his stock. Well-built for the position. Playing against Ivy League competition he was a dual threat quarterback with solid running ability to go with his passing. Flashes ability to read zone coverage and can find alternate receivers. Usually makes good decisions. Anticipates route breaks well and gets the ball out on time versus man coverage. Excellent runner he can run the read option and run/pass option effectively. Has been used on quarterback power runs and quarterback sweeps with success. Shows toughness running and can break Ivy League tackles. Somewhat long armed release is a little slow for NFL standards. Lacks consistent ball placement. Can be too quick to bail if his first read isn’t there. Lacks consistent accuracy and mechanics are spotty. Will throw into coverage at times. There is some upside as a developmental quarterback for a team that uses the quarterback as a planned running threat. He needs work on mechanics and the hope is he can become a solid backup for the right scheme. Athletic enough to contribute in other areas.
2021 stats: 296/445, 3034 yds, 66.5%, 23 TD, 14 INT, 134.6 QB rating. Ball velocity 53 mph. OSR:1/9. Sixth/seventh round. (A-32 1/4, H-8 3/4, VJ-34.5, SS-4.19).
