Alabama, 6034 241 4.70. One-year starter, Baton Rouge, LA. Also saw a year of heavy-rotation play. Second-team All-SEC in 2020. Missed all of 2018 with a knee injury and played in just ten snaps this past season because of a broken foot suffered on a play where he sacked the quarterback and forced a fumble. Both injuries required surgery. A bit of an unknown when it comes to the amount of tape and on-field production, but there is enough to warrant the idea of him being a quality player at the next level. Will need to prove he can stay healthy, but the tools and skill set can evolve into a quality starter in a 3-4 scheme. He should be ready for rookie mini-camp, as he nearly made it back for the college football playoffs. Muscular frame from top to bottom with evenly distributed mass. Twitchy, but powerful and sturdy base. Can lower his hips to the ground while moving at his top rate of speed. Plays a violent game with his hands. Converts a solid initial burst into power. Stands the blocker up and shows a smooth, abrupt lateral reaction with balance and control. Can bend and turn a tight corner. Shows the ability to arch back and make a blocker miss. Has smooth-enough hips to cover the flat and shadow backs and most tight ends. Lacks the adjustment-based rush moves with his hands. Needs to refine different ways to reach the quarterback. Has a tendency to get pushed back by power run blocking. Too easily fooled by misdirection, late to react.
