Ourlads' Profile:

2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ELIJAH QUALLS: Washington, 6005 313 5.16. Junior entry from Petaluma, CA. Two-year starter who started 19 of 36 career games. Earned first-team All-Pac 12 honors last fall. Short arms and small hands for the position. Built low to the ground but plays at right defensive end as a standup player. Gives effort to play under the pads of a blocker. Wins the leverage battles with low center of gravity and knee bend. Has lower body strength to drive a blocker up and back. Surprising flexibility and balance in space. Pursues hard and fast. Has shown the ability to drop in coverage and perform well while doing it. A versatile lineman who can wear many hats. Can be rendered ineffective if he doesn’t get the initial advantage. Lacks the desired size for an inside lineman. Can be blown out if he doesn’t play low. Plays in a rotation. Fringe quickness. At his height and weight combination, may be one of the freakiest athletes in the entire class. Has rare foot speed and burst to go with a level of agility and balance that you rarely see. While he never quite filled up the stat sheet, his versatility and ability to beat one-on- one blocking all over the line is obvious. A creative defensive mind could do wonders with Qualls, put him in any sort of vanilla role and scheme could backfire. 2016 stats: 38 T, 5 TFL, 3 sacks, 3 QBH. Edge speed:left 2.04, right 2.26. OSR:3/16. Fifth/sixth round. (A-30 5/8, H-9 3/8, BP-33, 10-1.73).
