Ourlads' Profile:
2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about AVERY GENNESY: Texas A&M, 6034 318 5.40. Two-year starter and fifth year senior from Southaven, MS. Began his career at East Mississippi Community College and red-shirted his first season with the Aggies. Earned 1st-team All-SEC honors in 2016. Athletic lower body that can easily move laterally without any sense of imbalance. Effective off the snap movement-wise. Can get deep into his kick slide with just a step or two. Shows good range. Can handle speed and quickness. Takes the proper angles to the second level and can make an impact there. Plays too high. Not enough knee bend and his hands are often at the top of the defender’s shoulder pads. Lacks staying power. Too easily thrown around by stronger defensive linemen. Technique is very inconsistent. Overcommits and lunges for his man. Gennesy will have to make the move inside where his lack of staying power and presence will be an issue. He has minimal hand strength and his lack of leverage gets him pushed back routinely. Athletically there is upside, but he has a ways to go. Shrine Game notes: An athletic left tackle who projects inside at guard. Doesn’t always play with a sense of urgency. Late to react to an outside speed rush. Can be beat by a speed rusher across his face. Inconsistent angles to second level to seal linebackers. Can bend his knees, but will straighten legs on contact. Lacks finish disposition. OSR:39/41. Seventh round/PFA. (A-33 5/8, H-9 1/2, BP-24, 10-1.89).
