Ourlads' Profile:
2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about FRANK GINDA: San Jose State, 6000 235 4.69. Junior entry and three-year starter from Los Banos, CA. Was the 2017 NCAA tackle leader with 173 stops. Has a good frame for an inside linebacker with good upper and lower body power. Played both inside and outside in the San Jose State scheme. Patient initial read and react with shuffle read steps. When he ‘sees it’ he has a burst moving downhill and in pursuit. Fits inside gaps and can avoid and slip blocks on the move. Plays with knee bend and gets under the pads of bigger blockers. Quick with his strike and shed showing the ability to redirect off a block. Explodes into tackles with good form and finish. Pass drop is normally a straight back spot drop where he reads the quarterback and works under intermediate routes. Reacts quickly on the throw. Has speed to match up to a back but was used mostly in zone coverage. Anticipates the snap on blitzes and has a burst to close. With a clear path makes plays in the backfield on edge blitzes. Shows some ability to get around the corner versus a pass block but has trouble shedding and can get locked up. Occasionally under or overruns a gap and is not always effective versus a cut back. Somewhat vulnerable to angle blocks as he can get too focused on what’s in front of him. Depth of drop is inconsistent and at times too shallow, limiting his range in zone coverage. Occasionally doesn’t get extension with his arms and gets locked up on a block inside. Has special team’s ability and should contribute. Has potential as an inside linebacker and could develop into an every-down player. 2017 stats: 173 T, 13 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 PBU, 2 QBH, 3 FF. Not invited to Combine. Pro day numbers: 33/VJ, 9-6/BJ, 6.81/3 cone. Sixth/seventh round. (A- 31 1/8, H-9 3/4, BP-29, SS-4.27).
