Ourlads' Profile:
2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JARRON JONES: Notre Dame, 6056 316 5.41. Two-year starter from Rochester, NY. Had a promising start to his career after transitioning from offensive tackle to the defensive line his red-shirt season. Things took a turn for the worse when a foot injury ended his 2014 season a few weeks early. Then missed the 2015 season with a torn MCL in preseason. Returned to play in the Fiesta Bowl. Born with an extra large frame, long arms, and big hands. Like a boulder rolling downhill, he’s a tough guy to stop once he gets going. Doesn’t get driven back on double teams. Presses the pocket in the pass game. Flashes good athletic ability to be disruptive and make plays. Has a decent range between the tackles because of his length. Pushes the pocket with his leverage and long arms. He will play too high at times. Goes outside the framework of the defense. Needs more discipline. Needs to generate more lower body power. Has had injury and work ethic concerns for the past few years. Has received some negative attention for poor rehab efforts and a switch that was very off and on as a practice player. Was in and out of the lineup in 2016, but showed dominant stretches where he looked virtually unblockable. Jones has gifts and ability. If he is put in the right situation, he has legit potential to be a top tier defensive tackle in the NFL within any scheme. 2016 stats: 45 T, 11 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 PBU, 2 QBH, 1 FF, 2 BK, 1 INT. Edge speed:left 1.87, right 2.32. OSR:14/16. Sixth/seventh round. (A-35 1/2, H-10 1/2, BP-22, 10-1.93).
