Ourlads' Profile:
2015 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about MATT JONES: Florida, 6023 231 4.58. Junior entry. One year starter from Seffner, FL. Jones has had two knee surgeries (one in high school, one in 2013). He runs with a physical, no-nonsense brand with above average ability between the tackles. Jones excelled in 2014 as part of a committee type running back approach for the Gators. He will be best suited for that situation at the next level because of his limited skill set. Big, physical back with an overly aggressive style of running. Good pad level and lean, consistently falls forward. Breaks tackle upon initial contact with defenders. Can adjust at the last second and gain extra yards with late movement. Most effective between the tackles as a downhill, attacking back. Quick straight ahead acceleration that can exploit a crease in the defense. Tight hipped. Doesn’t show a lot of wiggle or lateral ability. Somewhat one-dimensional. Didn’t catch a lot of balls at Florida. Can be caught from behind. 2014 stats: 817 yds, 4.9 ypc, 6 TD, 11 rec, 65 yds, 1 TD. OSR:16/34. Sixth/ seventh round. (A-32, H-8 5/8, BP-20, SS-4.20).
